Optometrist/Optometry/Opticians/Vision/Eye
There are four main categories of human eye care professionals:
Ophthalmologists (MD), Optometrists (OD),
Orthoptics (MD), and Opticians
Ophthalmologists (MD) deal with the diseases and surgery of the visual pathways that include the eye, hairs, and areas surrounding the eye, such as the lacrimal system and eyelids.The term ophthalmologist is an eye specialist for medical and surgical problems.

Doctors of Optometry (OD) are concerned with eyes and related structures, as well as vision, visual systems, and visual information processing in humans. Optometrists and optometry-related organizations interact with governmental agencies, other health care professionals, and the community to deliver eye and vision care.
Doctors of Orthoptics (MD) study or provide treatment of disorders of vision, especially of eye movements or eye alignment. Orthoptics is a sub-branch of Ophthalmology. See Doctor:
Opticians/Dispensing Optician
Dispensing Optician is a technical practitioner who designs, fits and dispenses corrective lenses for the correction of a person's vision.
