Spain! Pre-Med Students! Atlantis Project! Good News!

Please come back at the end of August for my post about my trip to shadow medical doctors in Madrid, Spain. Eike mentioned in the below letter is the coordinator of a shadowing experience for Health Sciences advisors. I was one of 36 selected to view first hand European Medical Doctors and other Health Care Professionals in action. Here is a little about the program from the NAAHP: "Dear Pre-Health Advisers, Your counseling greatly impacts the next generation of medical leaders. That's why the Atlantis Project is excited to partner with health advisers in equipping America's future medical leaders. As you know, we run observation-only programs, lasting a few weeks that take place during college breaks, for US pre-health students. All our programs are in developed country settings and we promote the AAMC guidelines on shadowing abroad. Our students receive 20+ hours of hospital exposure per week. In summer 2015 alone we sent students from more than 130 US universities, and several of these have official partnerships with us. We don't pay hospitals--rather, our students give back through teaching English to members of the staff that need it. Please forward this to your students as we're accepting the last applications for this summer (many of our sites are already full). We look forward to seeing you in Minneapolis in June! Reach out to Eike Gundersen at eike@atlantis-project.org if you'd like to book a 1:1 coffee in Minneapolis. All The Best, Lawson, Eike, Chris, Will, David, and Hannah--our Washington, DC-based team"
